RCIA - Right of Christian Initiation of Adults
After Jesus was baptized, he came up from the water andbehold, the heavens were opened (for him), and he
saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove (and) coming
upon him. And a voice came from the heavens, saying,
"This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased."
(Matthew 3:16-17)
Most years there are adults who wish to be received into the Roman Catholic Church through our parish. Normally, this is celebrated publicly in various liturgical ceremonies on certain Sundays and culminating at the Easter Vigil, marking the stages of the process of becoming a Roman Catholic. The R.C.I.A. team also meets weekly with candidates in order to share their Catholic faith with them and help candidates reach a deeper understanding of what it means to be part of the church. If you want to learn more about the basics of Catholic belief or you’re willing to help in leading the group, you will be very welcome to participate.
Meetings are on Wednesday at 7.30 pm in the Church House. Please contact the Co-ordinator: George Herriott (Tel: 636473) for more details.
