Marriage, Ministry to the Sick
Marriage
Couples intending to marry must give at least 6 months notice to the parish clergy. During the time before the wedding, couples are expected to meet with the parish clergy at various intervals and also take part in preparation provided by Scottish Marriage Care, (Telephone: 638426).
Ministry to the Sick
St Francis Xavier’s Communion Ministers can take communion weekly to the housebound in the parish at home, in the nursing homes within the parish boundaries, or in Falkirk Royal Infirmary. If you’d like to take advantage of this parish service, please speak to one of the priests. The Sacrament of Anointing is available on request by getting in touch with any of the priests, and it is recommended that you receive this sacrament before being admitted to hospital for any major surgery. There is also a communal celebration at least once a year during, or soon after, the Easter season. If you’re being admitted to hospital you should inform the parish clergy or Frs. Pat Bolan (823310) or Kevin Dow (812417), the chaplains to Stirling Royal Infirmary and the new hospital at Larbert.
